On June 14th, all pupils performed at our annual music recital in Moyne Community Centre cheered on by a large contigent of parents, grandparents and friends. This is an opportunity for all of our pupils to showcase their talents whether singing, dancing or playing instruments. A wide repetoire was presented with many instruments including whistle, accordion, banjo, trumpet, piano and violin, not to mention our County Champion school band.
Fleadh Cheoil medals and Ladies Football medals from recent competitions were presented by retired Principal, Mairéad Lloyd.
It was a fantastic evening’s entertainment
On Wednesday, June 7th our U13 ladies football team travelled to Dolla to compete in this annual blitz. Having beaten Gaelscoil Dúrlas, Carraig NS, St. Joseph’s Templemore and Scoil Angela, we qualified for the A Cup Final. Unfortunately we were beated by Gaelscoil Dúrlas but were thrilled when Helen Cleere was awarded player of the tourament.
Active School week is now an annual event and ran from April 24th-28th. We had different activities each day and all pupils took part. It was a great success. Active Schools Week culminated in the inter-schools track and field event where Moyne NS came home with a very impressive 33 medals!
